I am an American woman, born and educated in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. I studied art in the studio of George Demetrios in Folly Cove, Massachusetts. In my thirties I moved to the Antilles islands, and then to Paris, where I settled permanently. Now I live in my studio here where I work. When I make a sculpture I have an idea or an emotion that I want to express, but which I have not identified to myself in any other way than in the piece that I'm making. As the sculpture develops it takes over its own creation and imposes its own form and shape. Of course this is not true of portraits in which a likeness is the primary objective. All my sculptures are in bronze. |
